The Falkson Colour Company is a brand of Yedidya Falkson Art (Pty) Ltd, created out of a deep love for South Africa — its colours, its cultures, its landscapes, and its stories. Every pigment we produce is inspired by the heart of this country, crafted to give artists materials that feel alive, meaningful, and rooted in place.

Our Khoisan Range pays homage to the ancient San people, whose rock art and natural pigments still shape the visual identity of our land. Featuring Yellow Oxide, Red Oxide, and Black Oxide, these tones echo the earthy, timeless colours once used in sacred rock paintings.

The Ivory and Sable Range draws inspiration from two of South Africa’s most iconic animals: the elephant and the sable antelope. This set of White and Black represents contrast, balance, and the quiet strength of the natural world.

The Ndebele Range celebrates bold pattern, structure, and vibrant primary colour. With Blue, Red, and Yellow, this collection reflects the striking visual language of traditional Ndebele art and gives artists a powerful foundation for limitless mixing and expression.

Alongside our pigments, we proudly introduce the Amafutha Pigment Stick — a signature innovation of the Falkson Colour Company. “Amafutha” means oil and fat, capturing the richness and abundance of these large, oil-and-wax-based pigment sticks. They are smooth, deeply pigmented, biodegradable, non-toxic, and crafted for artists who want to work boldly and physically, directly from hand to canvas.

Sustainability is central to who we are. Every pigment and every Amafutha Stick is made with biodegradable, non-toxic ingredients, and all packaging is fully biodegradable and compostable.
